A huge portion of the San Antonio Spurs' hopes to go deep and end up atop of the NBA Playoffs hinges on Victor Wembanyama. During Game 2 of their first-round matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers, a worrying incident happened. Coach Mitch Johnson and the rest of the staff ended up making a tough decision about whether not he continues to play in this game.

Spurs rule Wembanyama out for NBA Playoffs Game 2 vs. Trail Blazers

The Spurs have officially decided that Victor Wembanyama will no longer suit up for the remainder of their Game 2 clash against the Trail Blazers, per Shams Charania of ESPN.He will enter concussion protocol and his availability will be up in the air during the rest of the Spurs' run in the NBA Playoffs.

Coach Johnson was only able to play Wembanyama for 12 minutes in the second game of this NBA Playoffs series. The Spurs superstar was still impactful in his contributions despite the injury. He contributed five points by knocking down knocking down a field goal and four free throws out of five attempts in the charity stripe. The Spurs superstar also dropped an assist.

Moreover, Wembanyama was still able to bother the Trail Blazers on the defensive side of the court despite his shorting playing time. The Spurs were able to get four rebounds and a block because of his dominance prior to the concussion. Now, it will be all up to Coach Mitch Johnson and the Spurs as to whether or not they will deem Wembanyama fit to play in their next NBA Playoffs games against the Trail Blazers.

It will be tragic if Wembanyama was only able to play two games for the Spurs in their first NBA Playoffs run with him. Hopefully, the basketball gods and greatness of modern science gets him back on the court by Game 3.
