Vanderbilt baseball players, Nashville area TSSAA stars invited to MLB draft combine

A pair of Vanderbilt baseball standouts have received invites to the 2026 MLB Draft combine.

Commodores shortstop Braden Holcomb and catcher Colin Barczi, will join top prospects from across the nation for the combine at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona June 23-25. Each are looking to leave a lasting impression ahead of the draft July 11-12.

Last season Holcomb started all 58 games for Vanderbilt, batting .352 with 80 hits, 54 RBIs and 14 home runs. Barczi started in 31 games, posting a .263 average with 31 hits, 28 RBIs and 11 home runs, while recording 33 put outs at catcher.

A number of Vanderbilt baseball signees, along with a handful of the Middle Tennessee's top high school players were also invited, including CPA's Bo Holloway, and Columbia Academy's Gunner Skelton.

Other Tennessee high school standouts to receive invites include Nolensville's Wyatt Clatur, a Virginia signee, Lipscomb Academy's Tennessee signee Jack Dugan and Columbia Central's Georgia Southern signee Jack Beck.

Former Nolensville star Ethan McElvain, now pitching at Arkansas, was also invited to the 2026 MLB Draft combine.
