Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph has had a tremendous year coaching one of the NFL's best defenses, and becoming one of the hottest coach candidates on the market in this cycle.

Vance Joseph was named as PFWA's (Pro Football Writers of America) Assistant Coach of the Year, after helping guide the Broncos' defense to the AFC title game. Vance's defense far and away led the NFL in sacks (68) and were third in total defense throughout the year. Joseph is one year removed from one of his players winning the Defensive Player of the Year award (Pat Surtain in 2024) and having another defender nominated for the award in 2025 (Nik Bonitto).

Joseph is only the second Bronco coach to ever receive the honor from PFWA. Wade Phillips (2015) previously won the award during the Super Bowl 50 "No Fly Zone" campaign.

Joseph's value to the Broncos has been incredible and defining since the Broncos' lost to the Miami Dolphins 70-20 in 2023. The defense has become one of the top units across the league. Because of Joseph's leadership, he has become one of the top coaching candidates, drawing interest from multiple clubs.

Joseph has also been named a finalist for the Associated PressAssistant Coach of the Year award, which will be announced during NFL Honors the week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Congrats to Joseph on the well-deserved recognition.
