The United States women's ice hockey team are through to the gold medal match at the Milan/Cortina Winter Games after a 5-0 win against Sweden on Monday.
Goals from Cayla Barnes, Taylor Heise, Abbey Murphy, Kendall Coyne, and Hayley Scamurra secured the victory. The last three goals came in a three-minute burst in the second period.
The US topped their Group A and haven't conceded a goal since their 5-1 win against Czech Republic in the tournament opener. In the quarter-finals, they defeated hosts Italy 6-0.
The reigning world champions will face either Canada or Switzerland in Thursday's final. Sweden, meanwhile, will bid for bronze.
The US have won Olympic gold in 1998 and 2018. Canada are the defending Olympic champions.
