The University of North Carolina released a statement on Friday, via The Athletic's Chris Vannini, denying an initial report that UNC coach Bill Belichick's girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, has been banned from the football field and facility.
"While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University," the statement read, per Vannini.
Sports commentator Pablo Torre reported that two sources told him that a decision had been made by the higher-ups in the athletic department to ban the six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach's girlfriend from the team facility and football field.
Tar Heel Illustrated pushed back on that update with a conflicting report that Hudson had not been banned by the university. Now, that report has been followed up with the actual statement from the university that nothing has changed.
Hudson is not an employee of the university, but she is still welcome to make appearances. She is also expected to continue managing Belichick's brand.
