A new era of North Carolina Tar Heels' basketball will begin this season. After a disastrous loss to VCU in the NCAA Tournament, the Tar Heels decided to go in a new direction.
A few weeks later, they hired Michael Malone to be the next head coach. The former NBA head coach who won a title with the Denver Nuggets now has the task of getting the program back to where it needs to be. This offseason has been spent recruiting and finalizing the roster for what should be an exciting team.
On Thursday, we got some news regarding North Carolina's 2026-27 Atlantic Coast Conference schedule.
The conference released opponents for each team as the 18-game schedule continues. Below are the opponents for the Tar Heels this upcoming season:
The Tar Heels will play at home and on the road against Duke and Louisville. Since the conference went to a 18-game schedule from a 20-game schedule, only two opponents are both home and away.
North Carolina also avoids the West Coast trip that they had to take last season. The full schedule, including dates and times, will be announced later.
