Unable to search?

What happened over the years that made most searches impossible?

If you type in a couple of words and try to search you get either a blank page (FF) or an internal (500) error (in IE).

Sometimes happens even doing simple searches for one word ...

Never used to happen back in the day ...

I noticed this same problem earlier. I assumed it was just me but I guess not

It's because the board got huge with 2 million posts.

Yes, there are problems with the search engine, but if you search on one word it works about 80% of the time.

I could ask keebali to re-index it, but that might mean the board is down for who knows how many hours, or longer.
