This time, a two-point shot beat out a three-pointer.

OG Anunoby won the ESPY Award Wednesday night for Play of the Year, beating out Braylon Mullins of UConn and three other nominees.

Mullins' season-saving shot came against Duke on March 29. Down 72-70 with 10 seconds left, things were dire for the Huskies in a game the Blue Devils once led by 19 points.

Mullins and Solo Ball used tough tandem defense to steal the ball with 5.8 seconds left, and with less than a second remaining, Mullins got the ball back and drained a long 3-point shot, sending the Huskies to a 73-72 win and a trip to the Final Four.

For Anunoby, of the New York Knicks, his moment wasn't quite as dramatic because it didn't come in an elimination game.

Still, his tip-in of a missed shot by Jalen Brunson with 1.2 seconds remaining in Game 4 of the NBA Finals put the Knicks in great position to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in the series.

The Spurs squandered a 29-point lead at Madison Square Garden in that game on June 13, Without Anunoby's soaring tip-in, the series would have returned to San Antonio tied at two games each. The Knicks took a commanding 3-1 series lead instead and returned to New York after a series-clinching Game 5 win with the franchise's first NBA championship since 1973.

Also nominated were Megan Keller and Jack Hughes, whose game-winning shots -- the golden goals, as they are called -- led the United States women's and men's hockey teams, respectively, to gold medals in the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics in February.

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams' astounding play for a touchdown to send his team into overtime against the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Divisional Series in January was the fifth nominee.

The prediction site Kalshi showed a huge edge in predictions in favor of Anunoby on Wednesday, with Mullins' play second.

Very early tournament projection for UConn

Speaking of predictions, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi has put out his way-too-early Men's NCAA Tournament bracket projections for the 2027 event. And what does he think of head coach Dan Hurley's Huskies?

Roundtable's Brady Farkas wrote this on Wednesday about Lunardi's view more than three months ahead of the opening of the regular season.

"For fans of UConn? They'll likely be disappointed, as Lunardi has them earning a No. 3 seed in the tournament, lower than this past season's No. 2. The Huskies advanced to the NCAA title game, losing to No. 1 Michigan. UConn has been to the championship in three of the last four years, winning two of them."
