The second UCLA baseball player to come off the board in the 2026 MLB Draft was right-handed pitcher Logan Reddemann in the second round to the Colorado Rockies with the No. 38 overall pick.
The Bruins ace was the third rookie drafted by Colorado following Kentucky shortstop Tyler Bell with the No. 10 pick and Georgia catcher Daniel Jackson with the No. 28 pick. On top of that, UCLA's starting pitcher came off the board 37 picks following the announcement of teammate Roch Cholowsky, who was the first name called of the day.
Before the 6-foot-2 pitcher stepped on the mound for UCLA last season, he played for UC San Diego in his freshman and sophomore seasons and won All-WCC First Team both seasons.
Although Reddemann suffered with arm fatigue at the end of the season for the Bruins, the UCLA starting pitcher managed to put together a stellar season for the Bruins, which earned him First Team All-Big Ten honors, ABCA First Team All-West Region, ABCA/Rawlings Third Team All-American and Second Team NCBWA All-American, according to UCLA.
UCLA's ace had his best performance in the Bruins series opener against Rutgers, where he tied the Bruins single-game strikeout record with 18.
Reddemann ended his Bruins career undefeated with an 8-0 record with a 2.87 earned run average while allowing 19 runs on 47 hits. The newest Rockies pitcher also threw 84 strikeouts during his 59.2 innings with UCLA, according to the Bruins.
