UCLA baseball has multiple players entering the 2026 MLB Draft this year. Shortstop Roch Cholowsky is the consensus No. 1 prospect going into the draft and is projected to join the Chicago White Sox organization.

In addition to Cholowsky, UCLA ace Logan Reddemann is projected to be a top-20 draft pick this summer. In a recent article, ESPN’s Kiley McDaniel linked the San Diego transfer to three teams: the Los Angeles Angels, Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners.

The Angels have the No. 12 pick in the draft, the Rangers have the No. 16 pick and the Mariners have the No. 24 pick. Therefore, Los Angeles will have to pass on the right-hander for Texas or Seattle to be able to draft him.

Although the Angels would benefit from drafting a standout starting pitcher like Reddemann, his recent battle with arm soreness could be a concern for Los Angeles.

Reddemann has been out since April 7 with throwing-arm soreness and will miss UCLAs entire Los Angeles Regional run.

“Logan looks like he’s still a week away,” Savage said earlier this week, per the Los Angeles Times. “Looks like he’s got one more bullpen [session] and [one] more live session if we can get there, to the super regional. But he will not be available this weekend. … I think he’s missed six or seven starts now. We’ve held up the fort since he’s left. Our guys have done a really, really good job.”

The Bruins are now one loss away from elimination from the NCAA Tournament after St. Mary’s shockingly upset the Bruins in the regional opener on Friday. UCLA will need to win three straight games, including two against Cal Poly, to stay alive in the tournament.

If UCLA is eliminated in the regional, Reddemann will not get the chance to increase his draft stock before the draft. So far, Reddemann has posted a 2.87 ERA with 89 strikeouts in 59.2 innings.

McDaniel suggested that Reddemann could land with the Rangers or Mariners if he falls in the draft due to this battle with injury.
