N. Carolina, UA discussing 4-year series in basketball

Arizona and North Carolina are close to finalizing a four-year, home-and-home basketball series that would begin during the 2004-05 season at the earliest.
Wildcats coach Lute Olson and Tar Heels coach Roy Williams are longtime friends and just completed a two-year series while Williams was still at Kansas. Williams took the head coach job at North Carolina in the spring.
Williams' Kansas team eliminated UA from last season's NCAA Tournament, winning 78-75 in the Elite Eight in Anaheim.
A deal should be finalized next month, if not sooner. The two schools tried to schedule a game for the upcoming season, but couldn't because of other game commitments.
