The ASFN family is citing Kirk Cousins and Alex Smith as possible bridge QBs (I know some think Cousins is the full package but I do not) if Palmer does not return but I suggest Taylor is the best option. I think more coaching can squeeze more out of him, he will not cost a arm or leg to acquire, and plus he fits a mobile QB mode which would cater to such an offense that a scramble ready young guy in the draft could eventually take over. I am looking to the draft for the solution but with David Johnson, there is no need not to have a chance and I know Michael Bidwill and Keim want to field a team every year no matter how slight with a possibility to win it all

I really like TT. He has talent...seems to be good in the locker room...and good off the field. I've got no problem bringing him in to see what he can do in Arians offense...and still drafting a QB high. IMO his ceiling is a slightly less awesome version of RW.

Sure but only if we draft a QB

I completely agree. If Palmer does not come back, you can draft a mobile QB and put an appropriate template of the offense while master the new approach where the bridge QB fits the system and there is that chance that maybe Taylor when paired with a back like Johnson (even Peterson in the wings) can do a lot of damage to our NFC West rivals... I would love to see the Rams or Seahawks pin their ears back and go after Taylor or a drafted Jackson with a receiving threat like David Johnson making them pay

And yes, I am saying draft the dynamic Jackson because regardless of what is being said... I think Mayfield my initial choice will not be a possibility at our draft position :)

I like Taylor. What I really question is if he'd want to come to Arizona to be constantly doubted with a rookie at his back. Now, is he going to have a ton of options? I don't know.

He does strike me as one of the more likely options though.

Exactly. The problem is timing. We would have to sign TT well before the drafting of said mobile QB, which may be telegraphing our intentions.

Telegraphing our intentions, probably not when our situation is known even at this point by us fans. I think it's pretty obvious that we need a young QB and any franchise with sense would be drafting one when Palmer is their guy or maybe even not available to make it apparent. If we have to get a new coach, then the guy's style of offense will have already given it away. If it's Arians, then the idea of getting a mobile QB away from a traditional offense is a remote possibility, or a ace in the pocket if Arians then does the opposite of style in free agency and the draft. This is a heavy QB laden draft by all accounts and team demand, so one takes what QB they can get regardless of style if they think he can be a pro in my opinion

In what world is Tyrod Taylor remotely close to Alex Smith or Kirk Cousins in QB talent?

Actually, it's well known in more than one galaxy. Have you even compared his stats to the other guys. He comes across a lot more dynamic than Smith when I watch him. Sure he has flaws, and you know what, so does Smith and Cousins... there are reasons all three can be made available but Taylor also adds the ability of mobility which I can appreciate :)

Taylor has his team in the playoff hunt. Cousins does not. And that's with Taylor getting unfairly benched.
LeSean McCoy and a weak schedule have the Bills in the playoff hunt not Taylor.

Taylor 2595 yards 13 TD 88.1 rating
Cousins 3925 yards 27 TD 98.5 rating

It's getting worse. We're going from Cousins to Smith to Taylor. Who's next, Mike Glennon?

Tyrod would get killed in Arian's system.

Taylor would want more than bridge money. With essentially no O-line and no quality WRs if Fitz leaves, forget signing a top FA. Hard to sign a mobile QB unless the Cards are committed to drafting the same. Taylor is decent but not close to Wilson.

Maybe these are the sweeping changes Keim is talking a big game about making.

It's not Cousins' fault that the AFC is garbage and he has no run game. He has one less win than Tyrod does this year. I don't know what people can expect Cousins to do to get the Redskins into the playoffs. Run the ball himself? Play ILB?

The dude has no supporting cast.

You're right. Cousins is the 2nd coming of Joe Montana. We should grossly overpay for him.

Yup, lost his pro bowl TE, lost 2 1000 yard receivers, played behind a poor and injured OLine, lost his top 2 running backs and still will throw for 4000 yards this season

Given a choice and equal money, I like Cousins.

If the Cardinals are looking for a QB to hold the fort down, then Taylor looks worthwhile.
