Aug. 6—GRAND FORKS — Tyler Peterson enjoys racing at River Cities Speedway.
"It's one of a kind," said the late model driver from Hickson, N.D. "I've got my own line I can run. It always seems to be there. It doesn't matter what the track conditions are, it's always racy. That place is always good. You're never going to catch me (complaining) about Grand Forks."
That's especially the case this summer.
Peterson has raced nine features at The Bullring this year — six with his late model and three in his modified.
He has won all nine.
Going back to last summer, Peterson has won 10 consecutive features at River Cities Speedway.
The last time he raced at The Bullring and didn't take the checkered flag was Sept. 6, 2025, when he did not finish the 92-lap John Seitz Memorial late model feature.
"We've always been pretty good there," Peterson said of Grand Forks. "I've raced there for so long. The car is good right now. We've got a good crew. Everything is kind of meshing."
Peterson has doubled up three times this season at River Cities Speedway, winning a modified and a late model feature on the same night.
Peterson said his focus is on the late model, though.
"I forget about that thing," he said of his modified. "I don't put any effort into that thing anymore. If there's a mod race in Grand Forks, we're going to be there. The thing is always good there when we've got a little traction."
Peterson also has had success at other tracks this summer.
He's won four times in Ogilvie, Minn., and one time at three other tracks — Norman County Raceway in Ada, Minn., Casino Speedway in Watertown, S.D., and Fiesta City Speedway in Montevideo, Minn.
Peterson currently leads the WISSOTA Challenge Series in points.
"It doesn't take much for racing to switch directions, then you're bad," Peterson said. "We've just got to ride the wave."
Peterson said he's not sure when he'll be back at River Cities Speedway next.
If rain-outs don't happen at other tracks, it might be the Seitz race in a month.
"That's the best race in WISSOTA," Peterson said. "I can't tell that to enough people, but that's my absolute all-time favorite."
