Jun. 29—GRAND FORKS — River Cities Speedway is running early this week.
The Bullring will host its weekly show at 7 p.m. Thursday instead of its usual slot on Friday.
Track officials began avoiding shows on Independence Day weekend in 2024, opting to run it earlier in the week. Feedback has been positive.
Five classes are scheduled to run Thursday night — sprints, late models, Midwest modifieds, streets and legends.
Because of a rainout and the World of Outlaw Late Models show last week, the sprints are scheduled to run at River Cities Speedway for the first time since June 12.
Mark Dobmeier, Jade Hastings and Gage Pulkrabek have won the three regular sprint features at The Bullring this summer. Carson Macedo won the World of Outlaw feature.
Dobmeier will return to his home track after notching his 200th NOSA victory on Saturday night.
Nick Omdahl is currently the points leader.
In the late model division, Shane Edginton has won three of the five regular features at River Cities Speedway this summer. Tyler Peterson has won the other two.
Bobby Pierce won the World of Outlaws Late Model feature on Friday. Pierce won again Sunday night in Minot, grabbing his fifth checkered flag in a row. He'll try to make it six-for-six on the northern swing on Tuesday in Ada, Minn.
Cole Greseth has been the dominant driver in the streets division, winning four of five features. Greg Jose won the other.
There have been five different winners in the Midwest modifieds division — Kenna Breidenbach, Dylan McCaughan, Frank Veert, Memphis Classen and Matt Schow. Austin Hunter is the points leader.
