WATERTOWN — Mike Stearns capped his big week at Casino Speedway with another modified feature victory on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
Stearns topped a field of five drivers to win his third modified in a row at the local speedway. On Thursday, July 16, the Aberdeen driver won the 40-lap modified feature in the 15th Summersota Nationals in Watertown. The event featured the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS). He earned $3,000 for the win.
Sunday's program had 66 cars, which included 13 late models and 12 each from the street stock, Midwest modified, Gen X late model and hornet classes.
Jason Marko of Watertown (street stocks) and Dylan Tirrel of White (hornets) each also won their third features of the season at Casino. Todd Stark of Watertown (Midwest modifieds), Charlie Olsen of Hendricks, MN (late models) and Trevor Walsh of Watertown (Gen X late models) each won their first features.
Heat winners were Marko and Kyle Bertram of Dallas, street stocks; Stark and Darren Engesser of Gary, Midwest modifieds; Blake Swenson and Tony Croninger of Watertown, Gen X late models; Stearns, modifieds and late models; Chad Becker, late models; and Tirrel and Adam VanDerostyne of Canby, MN, hornets.
The Summersota Nationals included 28 modifieds, 16 Midwest modifieds, 10 street stocks and six Gen X late models.
Tyler Davis of Haysville, KS won the B feature for the modifieds and Sterans and Brandon Davis of Hayfield, MN each won qualifying races. Heat winners were Travis Saurer of Elizabeth (MN), Joseph Thomas of Glyndon (MN), Steve Lavasseur of River Falls (WI) and Gary Christian of Broken Bow (OK).
Bodie Croninger of Watertown won the Gen X late model feature, Maria Brooksieck of Goodwin the street stock feature and Blake Adams of Cameron, WI the Midwest modified feature. Croninger has three feature wins and Broksieck two this season at Casino.
Other heat winners included Jayden Bogh of Huron and Marko, street stocks; Adams and Stark, Midwest modifieds; and Swenson, Gen X late models.
Casino Speedway officials are in charge of the Yellow Medicine Fair Races at Renegade Speedway in Canby (MN) on Thursday, July 23 at 7 p.m.
Another regular weekly racing program at Casino Speedway is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 26.

HURON — Aberdeen drivers Mike Stearns (late models) and Stewart Schipke (super stocks) each won feature races during the Mackenzie Kopecky Memorial racing program on Saturday, July 18.
Stearns won his second feature of the season at DSFS and Schipke joined Broc Stout of Winner (street stocks) and Lane Johnson of Miller (Midwest modifieds) as first-time winners.
Area heat winners included Chris Serr of Aberdeen (street stocks), Scott Hansen of Garden City (Midwest modifieds), Trevor Nelson of Warner (super stocks) and Josh Skorczewski of Aberdeen (late models).
The next racing program is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
MADISON, MN — No racing program was scheduled for Saturday, July 18.
A Pure Stock and Hornet Special is slated for Saturday, July 25 at 7 p.m.
MONTEVIDEO, MN — Dawson Zabel of Selby won the Midwest Modifieds feature on Friday, July 17.
The program included 78 cars (25 street stocks, 16 Hornets and Midwest Modifieds, 11 limited late models and 10 pure stocks.
Zabel and Darren Engesser of Gary each won Midwest modified heats. Other area drivers who won heats were Ian Tjaden of Boyd, MN (pure stocks), Blake Swenson and Trevor Walsh of Watertown (limited lates) and Adam VanDerostyne of Canby, MN (hornets).
A Super Stock Special is scheduled for Friday, July 24 at 7 p.m.
