There was a lot of controversy surrounding the Los Angeles Rams' rookie quarterback, Ty Simpson, being picked at No. 13 in this year's draft.

Many questioned the Rams' decision to pick a guy who had only 15 starts at quarterback for Alabama.

But Rams management and head coach Sean McVay didn’t pay attention to the outside noise and drafted Simpson anyway.

As for Simpson, he doesn’t care what others think about him going early in the draft. He’s ready to prove the naysayers wrong.

I really didn’t care, to be honest with you,” he said. “Everybody can have an opinion, but it’s my job to take care of my business. So, the Rams took me with the 13th overall pick, so now it’s my job to be the best player I can be, the best Ty I can be, and go out there and prove them right. I don’t really listen to all that. My job is to make sure to do whatever my team needs me to do to win, and that’s what I’m going to do.”

Simpson was having a Heisman-type season in the first half of the year before a back injury affected his play in the second half of the season. Yet he led his team to the College Football Playoff and an 11-4 record.
