Two elite LSU baseball transfers make On3's top five

On3 released a top 25 ranking of the top college baseball players in the spring transfer portal window. LSU baseball holds commitments from two of the top five players on the list.

Outfielder Bino Watters ranks atop the list at No. 1 while pitcher Landon Hood ranks No. 3. Both are the top players at their positions among players in the portal. They'll play pivotal roles to getting the Tigers back to the summit of college baseball in 2027.

Over his two seasons at Notre Dame, Watters batted .343 with a 1.026 OPS, 131 hits, including 19 home runs, 90 RBI and 86 runs. He fills an immediate need for LSU in the batting order and the outfield. The Tigers lost all three of their starting outfielders from 2026 to the MLB.

Hood, a right-handed pitcher, was the first player to commit to LSU at the conclusion of the 2026 season. As a true freshman at Gonzaga, he appeared in 16 games, including four starts. He worked a 2.48 ERA over 54.1 innings with his fastball/changeup mix.
