Plain and simply there really isnt a whole lot to report today!

The team practiced with helmets only and did mostly walk through stuff on both Defense and Offense. Very boring to watch from a spectator standpoint but necessary none the less.

Pace again was lined up with the 1st team while doing all the walk through drills.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They then practiced all of the special team "funny plays" as I like to call them. That being fake punts, fake field goals, Onside kicks etc...... I found it rather strange that during fake punt practice they didnt use Player one time #2 the rookie was running all the plays. Seems strange when the kid wont make the team. Seems that you would want your man getting all of those reps. Doesnt matter much I guess I cant remember the last time the Cards even tried one in a game?????

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

They then practiced KO return the 1st team consisted of Boldin and Shipp as the return men. The second team consisted of Johnson/Newhouse as the return men. Nobody particularly stood out being that there was no defense.

I find it odd that Mckinnon and Shipp two of the people I would consider important to the success of the team on special teams. To bid a chance for injuries IMO!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theonly other odd thing I saw was that Starks was leading all of the DBs in there drills and stretching. He was in the middle and they were all following him and taking his lead. Just seems odd that he still seems to be the leader of the group given whats gone on the last 2 weeks or so. I would have assumed Dexter would have been the one leading them!!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyways Im very sorry about this AM I assure yo I was sick and not slacking! Good thing Pinacle was there to pick up my slack. He gives an AWESOME camp report!

I will be at the 3 PM practice tommorrow unless Im struck by some mysterious illness again and I will have another report then!

Way to play through it Shane. Fine job.

Mac on special teams... hmmmm....
I'm not sure I like the idea of Shipp returning kicks. Need some more speed back there (not that I think Shipp is as slow as some do).

shane..Thanks!

I have to pace myself (pun intended) and usually skip the walk thru practices. Wakefield was on the 1st team defensive end this morning. On the kickoff team there were a few starters..jackson, wilson, mckinnon, darling (2nd team but pushing), fisher...plus others.

My theory is that due to the ass kicking our special teams took in the 2nd half of the season - we are going to put our more of our best players on the field..

the only memory I have of fake punts was the plays we did a few times where we snapped the ball directly to tillman.

I'm sorry Shane, but there is no way you saw this. It has been proven beyond all doubt Starks is a cancer who will poison the lockerroom and should be cut immediately.

It does seem a little odd that they naked apart from the helmets though, I would have thought that might have made the news.

Portland Oregon these days.
I think after last season's stretch of injuries, Mac is having everyone practice everything, just in case. It doesn't mean those guys will actually be on special teams.

Good job Shane and to everybody in Flagstaff for the updates. Hate to say it is sometimes the highlight of the day (but a good excuse to sneak a peek at work).
