The Seattle Seahawks need a cornerback this offseason.
Prior to the 2026 NFL Draft, the Seahawks have the chance to scour the free agent market for a corner that is equipped to add to their secondary next season, or perhaps even further than that.
Seattle has $33.2 million in cap space this spring. The Seahawks added to their running back room after the departure of Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker in free agency by signing Emanuel Wilson. The same goes for their secondary, as Seattle added another safety to their unit with their signing of Rodney Thomas II.
Trevon Diggs is a high-profiled free agent that is worth a look in the open market.
Diggs hit free agency after playing for the Dallas Cowboys as well as the Green Bay Packers in 2025. The Alabama product missed eight games of the 2025 season from Week 7-15 due to a knee injury. He only had one tackle for loss on the year.
However, it was just in 2024 when Diggs recorded two interceptions as well as 11 passes defended for the Cowboys. His career year came in 2021, where he led the league in interceptions with 11, including seven of them occurring from Week 1-6 of that year.
Diggs is an established veteran that has excelled on defense throughout his career. The Seahawks still have the opportunity to consider signing the former first-team All-Pro honoree in free agency while he’s still available.
