Can't help but notice that Tony and Kevin sit on complete opposites sides of the box, when they are attending home games together. Not saying they don't get along, but one could look at this and think that way.

I hope so! :)

Towers was interviewed in the booth during the game tonight vs. the Pirates.

I know he can't divulge a lot, but everything he said was so bland. He is not a mumbler like Gibson, but he was no more enthusiastic.

This is like sitting and sitting and sitting and sitting in the waiting room of a dentist office. Let's get it over with already!

Ya treat him like he has treated most our farm system and major league talent; kick him to the curb with to regard

I heard an interview with Hall today that frightened me. He is still a big Kevin Towers fan, really gushed about him. One of the things he highlighted was the rapport KT has with GMs around the league...

Gee... I wonder why that is.

He's like the kid in the lunch room you know you can trade your apple for his fruit gushers

I am pretty sure there are a lot of people who would rather not sit next to either in the press box

I'm pretty sure Hall was a catalyst in hiring KT from the start. TLR is essentially in the baseball side of the Hall position from an organizational standpoint. Hall isn't really anything, but a carnival barker (which is seems to excel at) from my observation.

Kevin Towers and Ken Kendricks are fools!

Not only has Kevin Towers made a fool of himself by decimating the D-backs starting pitching staff, he has made a fool of himself by opening his mouth.

Announcing to the Press that he wanted the D-backs pitchers to employ "an eye for an eye" was downright stupid. No matter which side of the Goldy/McCutchen incidents a fan stands on, his going public beforehand about throwing at batters achieved nothing positive in the eyes of the community or country.

But then, his boss Ken Kendricks did the same thing. Back when superstars were doping and the League and Front Offices were looking the other way because it attracted more paying fans, and the question of how Gonzo bulked up came into play, Kendricks had nothing to gain by going public with the Press. Kendricks was the last person who should have blindsided him.

What I am saying is that without taking sides on either issue, and regardless of what is encouraged behind the scenes, it is (I'll say it again) downright stupid for either the General Manager or Managing General Partner to go public with something negative about the D-backs.

If John Schnatter (the founder and CEO of Papa John's Pizza) did that, it wouldn't affect the community. The Valley would get along just fine without Papa John's. Personally I prefer Ray's (formerly Famous Ray's) Pizza.

But when Kevin Towers or Ken Kendricks make comments, it affects an entity in the public domain -- an MLB baseball team. Our MLB baseball team! At least, he better look at it that way if he intends to keep making money off us.

Whether we go through the turnstyles or support his TV sources or sponsors, we (directly or indirectly) provide his revenue. And from a moral point of view, he has an obligation as an owner to not degrade his team or our community.

So we have an owner with loose lips and a General Manager with loose lips who embarrass the team, the community and its fans. Not to mention their Manager who, as the saying went, would screw up a wet dream.

Hey, guys, if our Boys of Summer are going to keep screwing up, at least we can root for our Girls of Summer -- the 2-time Champion (on their way to a third) Phoenix Mercury. The Valley has a summer sports team we can be proud of.

At this point, hopefully ARZ can find a taker for Aaron Hill who is willing to take on his contract. There is no reason to keep him now that Goldy is out for the year. ARZ currently has the third worst record in baseball, hopefully they are in position to take Duke ace Michael Matuella in next year's draft. Kid is a top of the rotation pitcher ARZ can really use going forward. Hopefully Towers is gone so he can't deal him for scrubs. With ARZ able to rid themselves of Cahill, Ross & Arroyo after next season I wonder if ARZ goes after a Jon Lester and/or Jeff Samardjia knowing their contracts become more affordable with the Big 3 purge?

Lester
Samardjia
Corbin
Miley
Anderson

Nice looking rotation. Pipe dream as we are not LA or NY.

Why don't we trade Miley? Or at least entertain offers for Miley? If we really think next season is lost, what is the point in keeping him? He's not a top of the rotation guy and he is relatively inexpensive for the next 2 seasons.

^Miley is better than the current alternatives such as Bolsinger and Delgado. And as the Diamondbacks pretty much get analized on every trade, they'd be trading a pitcher who has demonstrated that he can pitch at a high level (not that he is) for the equivalent of a bucket of spit.
