Norwegian cycling twins Anders and Tobias Johannessen slept under the stars on the balcony after being too disgusted by their hotel room at the Tour de France.
Tour leader Tadej Pogačar had complained that his hotel had no air conditioning amid sweltering conditions, but the Uno-X Mobility duo said their accommodation in the Massif Central left even more to be desired on Monday's rest day.
"Could be worse, this is ours," Anders posted on X with a video of mould and dirt on the floor and cobwebs.
A later Instagram video showed their solution - putting mattresses on the outside balcony.
Tobias wrote: "The inside of the hotel: Questionable. The outside: really niiiice."
Hotels for the teams are selected by Tour organizer ASO. The Tour often travels to remote areas of France, with the choice of accommodation limited.
