Top 100 NBA player ranking for Sixers guard VJ Edgecombe revealed

Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe is coming off a more than solid rookie season in which he averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists while shooting 35.4% from deep in his maiden season. His production earned him a spot on the All-Rookie First Team as he made his mark on the league rather quickly.

Edgecombe had some uneven playoff performances as he averaged 14.0 points and 6.1 rebounds and his 3-point percentage dipped to 29.2%, but he was still able to step up and give the Sixers some production on both ends of the floor. He is clearly a player with stardom in his sights as he continues to grow and develop in this league.

The Ringer ranked the top 100 players in the league and Edgecombe comes in ranked No. 84 on the list:

Edgecombe was about as fearless as a rookie can be during Philadelphia’s surprising run to the second round. He drilled five 3s in his first Game 7, on his way to scoring 23 points in a narrow Sixers win. And even when his shot wasn’t falling, he didn’t shy away from getting to his spot in the midrange, attacking the rim, firing away from deep against defenses that decided to leave him alone, and crashing the glass. If anything can be learned from Edgecombe’s first postseason, it’s that any preconceived speculation about what he can or can’t accomplish in the next decade should be eradicated. There is no ceiling for this dude. Even if there were, he’d eventually burst through it trying to dunk on somebody.

As Edgecombe heads into his second season, there is still work to be done to round out the edges of his game. He could become a better ball-handler and the 3-point shot can be fine-tuned a bit more, but it's obvious that he has a ton of potential. He will be looking to take that next leap in the 2026-27 season.
