There was a time when Tony Romo was considered one of the best analysts around for NFL broadcasts. He prepared for telecasts, read offensive schemes and showed some good chemistry with Jim Nantz.

That feels like forever ago.

The past few seasons have shown a considerable decline with Romo's performance with CBS. He's no longer offering meaningful analysis. And more often than not, he's either straight-up wrong or reacting to every moment with filler noises.

During Sunday's AFC wild-card matchup between the Bills and Jaguars, Romo once again wasn't at his best form. Like, what was Romo even doing with the noises in the first half? Viewers were certainly wondering.

And Romo was even off in some key on-field moments. He was certain the Bills' Josh Allen completed a pass that was ruled incomplete — even after seeing the replay.

Tony Romo was very certain this was a catch with the ball on the ground https://t.co/oDLYR4d4eh

“Don’t worry guys, he caught it.”-Tony Romo (it was ruled incomplete)

He speculated about a touchdown ruling based on how quickly the officials were speaking to each other. Only to be wrong again.

Tony Romo saying that wasn’t a touchdown by Allen because the ref is talking really fast might be the worst logic I’ve ever heard from an announcer

It wasn't the kind of performance CBS would want from its lead analyst.
