Cards Czar
The Bird is the Word
Latest buzz has Rex Ryan (Jets) making a run at Heap.
Read that jeff. Rex met him at the airport and had him in a bear hug. Hmmm. Comon Cards you have a bunch of money. Lets get a good 2 TE set here and lets roll.

That's the fashionable reason.
But you could also say that if the Cards had kept Dansby the Defense would have been at least 2 wins better and we'd have had a shot at first and wouldn't have finished last.
Nobody knows for sure but at least the QB question will be answered this season. Of course if the Defense blows again and the Cards finish 5-11 as a result the excuse will probably be that Kolb didn't have enough time to work with the offense and the new receivers and the new OC and so the lack of offense put too much pressure on the Defense.
But we're not alone in this. Few fans ever blame their Defense for poor seasons or even many single game defeats.
I still believe that even if the QB play had been average the team would have struggled to get to a position to win the Division. No team can lose the quantity of quality players in one off season the Cardinals did and not.
You have to be intellectually dishonest or flat out stupid to think that any one (Dansby) defensive player would have made a difference last year. Granted, losing Dansby was a blow, but ABSOLUTELY nothing would have overcome the debacle we had at the QB position. Having a horrible QB in the NFL would be akin to a baseball team not fielding the entire left side of their infield.

Starters:
Quantity 4: Hayes, Dansby, Rolle, McFadden
Quality: Dansby, Rolle
Hayes: injury
Rolle: replaced and was outperformed by Rhodes.
McFadden: replaced more than adequately by Toler
Dansby: A true loss in quality.
But, Karlos could never offset the fact that the "D" was on the field for close to 5 minutes more game, after game, after game. (IMO)

Dj, our defense wasn't much better even when we had Dansby and he sure didn't do us any favors on that last drive Pittsburg made during the SB. Our defense has been really poor since Buddy Ryan left. We can argue this all day long, but it is obvious. When Warner left, this team went into a nose dive. That is exactly why we were 5 - 11 last year.
Adequately replaced by guys who haven't played a down for us? Can I borrow your crystal ball I'd like to buy some lottery tickets tomorrow.
