The Tennessee Titans have picked up the fifth-year option in guard Peter Skoronski's contract, keeping him on the Titans' roster through at least 2027 as the team continues trying to work out a long-term contract.

The team announced the decision April 30.

Skoronski, the Titans' first-round pick in 2023, emerged as their best offensive lineman and arguably best offensive player overall in 2025, starting all 17 games and only allowing two sacks and one quarterback hit. He graded out as the second-best pass blocking guard in the NFL and the sixth-best guard overall per Pro Football Focus' grades for 2025.

As with all first-round picks under the current Collective Bargaining Agreement, Skoronski signed with the Titans on a four-year deal after the team picked him No. 11 overall in 2023. First-round rookie contracts are structured to allow teams to pick up an additional fifth year before that player hits unrestricted free agency.

Skoronski is the first Titans player to have his fifth-year option picked up since DL Jeffery Simmons, who the Titans picked in 2019.

Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said at the NFL Scouting Combine in February that the Titans' goal is to sign Skoronski on a long-term contract extension. Simmons and safety Amani Hooker, also drafted in 2019, are the last Titans draft picks to sign second contracts with the franchise, regardless of draft position. No players from the 2020, 2021 or 2022 Titans drafts remain on roster, and Skoronski is the only projected starter from the Titans' 2023 class.

Skoronski is part of an offensive line that also returns starting tackles JC Latham and Dan Moore Jr., for 2025. The Titans have question marks at center and right guard, positions where starting options could include 2025 draft pick Jackson Slater, 2026 draft picks Fernando Carmona Jr., and Pat Coogan and 2026 free agency signings Cordell Volson and Austin Schlottmann.
