Tennessee Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi is a proponent of coach Robert Saleh’s plan for the team in 2026.
The Titans hired Saleh to be their 22nd head coach in franchise history on Jan. 22. Saleh’s most recent roles were as defensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers in 2025, as well as coach of the New York Jets from 2021-24. The 47-year-old vocalized his clear intent for the team from the time he addressed the media at his introductory press conference on Jan. 29 until the present day. Saleh intends for the Titans to play “fast and violent” beginning in 2026, but also has specific plans for individual players on the roster, including quarterback Cam Ward as well as linebacker Oluwafemi Oladejo.
At the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine on Wednesday, Borgonzi commended Saleh for the detail he’s seen from Tennessee’s head coach in person in his early days with the Titans.
”He’s very detailed. He’s very organized. He has a plan for everything,” Borgonzi said. “So those have been impressive things,” Borgonzi said
Saleh intends to work with Ward on his foundation as a quarterback in preparation for next season. Saleh, along with Titans offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, are also working with Ward’s personal QB coach to hone in on his footwork this offseason.
As for Oladejo, Saleh has confidence that the 22-year-old will recover fully from the fractured leg he suffered in Week 6 of last year that ended his season. He expects him to work on his vertical movement as a pass rusher for next season.
Titans defensive coordinator Gus Bradley views Saleh as a coach he can get behind from a vision standpoint. Saleh wants the Titans to play with speed as a unit, in addition to ferocity in 2026.
