And just like that, the Tennessee Titans have decided to hire Robert Saleh as their next head coach.

While analysts and insiders have expressed different views on why and how Tennessee got to this point, Titans Insider Turron Davenport added clarity to the decision late last night. Davenport took to X to say that in the end, it was Saleh’s impressive interview that swayed Mike Borgonzi into the decision.

Saleh is a passionate coach, and even though his tenure with the New York Jets did not go the way he wanted, the Jets played hard and had one of the top defenses in the league during his time, which Titans fans should welcome.

CLARITY: Titans GM Mike Borgonzi ultimately made the decision to hire Robert Saleh. Monday's visit swayed the decision in Saleh's favor. Saleh impressed Borgonzi and the group enough to conclude he was the best candidate for the job.

What Tennessee has that New York never did is a quarterback: Cam Ward. Now, Saleh must put together an offensive staff to take advantage of that, and in his interview, his vision for that must have resonated with Borgonzi.

In the end, the insiders who penciled in Matt Nagy were wrong, and Borgonzi made the decision he felt was best for the organization, and Saleh was that option.
