NFL teams are busy navigating the free agency feeding frenzy that started on Monday with the kickoff of the league's legal tampering period, and the Tennessee Titans made a splash.
General manager Mike Borgonzi added both talent and depth to the roster and has started to fortify the organization's foundation, sending a buzz throughout the fan base with an impressive mix of offensive and defensive players. The fans weren’t the only ones impressed, with Garrett Podell of CBS Sports mentioning the haul in his winners and losers article.
Tennessee did a good job at adding some veteran voices that will help the young Titans adapt to the new systems on both sides of the ball as they are being implemented by the staff during the offseason, and this approach could pay dividends moving forward.
The Titans aren’t a finished product, but after one day of free agency, they appear to be headed in the right direction.

Winner: Robert Saleh's and Brian Daboll's New York reunion in Nashville
The Titans spent $270 million in free agency, just behind the Raiders for the Day 1 spending lead. New head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll clearly have the ear of general manager Mike Borgonzi. They signed five players who previously played for Saleh with the Jets or Daboll with the Giants. Those additions should help create a much better supporting cast for 2025 first-overall pick Cam Ward.
The Titans also signed Alontae Taylor, the first cornerback since DeAngelo Hall (2010-13) with 75-plus tackles and 10-plus passes defended in three consecutive seasons. Taylor has totaled 247 tackles, 7.0 sacks, four interceptions, and 41 passes defended since 2023.
