With NFL training camps kicking off in a couple of weeks, outlets across the media landscape are dropping their different countdowns and rankings, and they have been interesting to read. The Tennessee Titans have been ranked all over the place, and there are definitely some mixed opinions on what they have accomplished this offseason.

Even with those different thoughts, if there was one constant Titans fans could count on, it would be Jeffery Simmons, who is arguably the top defensive tackle in the league. As many believe, this was backed up by the Pro Football and Sports Network (PFSN) in their Top 100 players.

No. 19: Jeffery Simmons - Tennessee Titans - DT1

Analysis

Having been one of the top defensive tackles in the NFL for much of his career, Jeffery Simmons put up the best year of his career in 2025. His 97.2 PFN DT Impact Score marked a career high for him, and he ended the year ranked as the most efficient defensive tackle in the league. His 11.0 sacks led all interior defensive linemen last season, too.

Even if the Tennessee Titans haven't been great the last few seasons, Simmons certainly has been. He's finished with a top-eight score among defensive tackles in four of his last five seasons, and he's been elite in all aspects of the position: he ranked second with a 96.0 pass-rushing score and first with a 91.0 run-defense score in 2025.

This breakdown by PFSN backs up what everyone sees with Simmons inside the Top 20 and ranked as the top defensive tackle in the NFL. This is yet another Top 100 countdown that, unlike the NFL.com countdown, which had Simmons buried on the list, valued his on-field impact in 2025, when he was one of the most dominant defensive tackles in the league.
