While many NFL fans are suffering through a massive heatwave that has temperatures rising across the United States, teams are busy wrapping up last-minute details before training camps begin at the end of the month.
For Tennessee Titans fans, the excitement of the team's potential has them counting down the days until rookies report to camp and the Robert Saleh era can finally take off. But for them to be successful, second-year quarterback Cam Ward will have to take a step forward, and that is exactly what NFL.com’s Nick Shook believes will happen in 2026.
There should be optimism heading into the season with the Titans actually having an offensive coordinator with playcalling experience running the offense. Ward really picked up his game down the stretch after Brian Callahan was fired, and the offense started to take advantage of what Ward did well. Now, with better weapons around him, he should have every chance to build upon his late-season success in 2026.

Cam Ward - Tennessee Titans - QB
Accuse me of cherry-picking if you must, but Ward showed enough as a rookie to convince the majority of the population that he’ll make positive strides in his second NFL season. He’s now playing under the direction of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll -- the same play-caller who supervised Josh Allen’s blossoming in Buffalo -- and will take the field with both a year of NFL experience under his belt and two upgrades at receiver in free-agent signee Wan'Dale Robinson and No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate. Ward made the most of the Titans’ below-average roster as a rookie and emerged with optimism after one year. In Year 2, he’ll truly bloom.
