Minnesota Timberwolves guard Donte DiVincenzo knows exactly what kind of chaos Draymond Green brings — he saw it up close during his time with the Golden State Warriors. Now he’s bracing for it as a rival.
Green is among the NBA's most polarizing figures and a frequent lightning rod for postseason controversy. In the first-round series against the Houston Rockets, he racked up four technical fouls and two flagrants, continuing his trend of toeing — and at times crossing — the line of acceptable play.
It can rattle opponents and change the flow of the game. But DiVincenzo is making sure his Timberwolves squad is well-prepared.
"Everybody knows that is just an ultra competitor and we have them too. It's nothing we're saying he's going to do coming into the game," DiVincenzo said ahead of Game 1. "We want him to compete, we want to compete, and get after it. There's no intervening. There's no nothing. These guys know exactly what's at stake and what we're getting into."

Green is making an effort to control his emotions. He gave a passionate speech to his teammates ahead of Game 7, taking responsibility for a costly flagrant in Game 6 that set the wrong tone for the matchup.
“I had a lot to say,” Green said. “Most importantly was calling myself out … You can’t be a leader and not be accountable. You call other guys out when their (expletive) stinks. You better say when yours does, too.”
The Warriors are a 6.5-point road underdog against the Timberwolves for Game 1, per ESPN BET.
