Perfect Game released its preseason All-America teams and three players from LSU baseball were recognized. Outfielder Derek Curiel earned a first-team nod. Relief pitchers Casan Evans and Zac Cowan landed on the second and third teams, respectively.
Curiel, entering his sophomore season, comes into 2026 as the reigning freshman of the year from multiple outlets. He batted lead off for much of the season and led the team with a .345 batting average and 20 doubles. He finished in the top three with 90 hits, 67 runs, and 55 RBI.
As a true freshman, Evans earned a critical role coming out of the bullpen. The right-hander finished the season with a 2.05 ERA and seven saves in 19 appearances. Over 52.2 innings, he recorded 71 strikeouts to 19 walks. Evans also made three starts and posted a 5-1 record.
Cowan ended the season as a first-team All-SEC selection. He worked a 2.94 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 22 appearances. For a portion of the 2025 season, he led the SEC and country with a sub 2.00 ERA. Five of his six saves came in SEC regular-season games.
