LSU baseball entered Sunday hoping to salvage the series vs. Georgia and capture momentum heading into the final week of the season, but that's not how Game 3 vs. the Bulldogs played out. Much like Saturday's Game 2, Georgia took an early lead and commanded the game. Georgia scored four runs in the second, which would have been enough to win the game alone, but UGA kept pouring it on for a run-rule victory.

Casan Evans was back after being out for the past couple of weekends. The Dawgs did not greet him kindly. Evans was taken off the mound after 1.2 innings, giving up four runs on four hits, three strikeouts, and two walks. LSU will welcome the Florida Gators into Baton Rouge on Thursday for the final series of the regular season. Here are three takeaways from LSU's Game 3 loss on Sunday.

Casan Evans pulled early

It was good to see Evans back on the mound again, but it did not last long. Georgia chased him from the mound before he could finish two full innings of work. The Dawgs are the No. 1 team in the SEC for a reason. They proved it all weekend.

Tigers did not hit well

LSU only managed one run on Sunday. No one had a multi-hit game, and Steven Milam was the only Tiger to get an extra-base hit. The offense has not been up to the task vs. quality SEC pitching this year.

Rough day for Zac Cowan

Zac Cowan pitched 3.1 innings against Georgia today and gave up seven runs on eight hits, two strikeouts, and three walks. The Dawgs showed no mercy to any of the LSU pitchers as they were able to score 12 runs total and run-rule the Tigers.
