First of all this is awesome. I knew this day would come and with Wiz as a coach, but I did not expect it so soon. It's weird I have seen UConn win two National Championships once beating Duke in the Finals and once beating Duke in the Final Four. I saw the Mets win and go to the World Series. That was exciting, but expected. This is out of the blue almost and as a Cards fan it's overwhelming. Sunday can not get here fast enough. I will be glued to my tv, but it's almost like I don't want to watch, only find out the results after. Is that weird? Not because i am scared they will lose, but its almost like its too good. Maybe because I am the only Cardinals fan I know of in a 2000 mile radius. Sunday will be awesome no doubt but win or lose I am still going to be tweaked. I have been looking forward to this day for 17 years and then it comes and I get freaked out. Does anyone else feel this way too, or am I an idiot?

You are not an idiot. I am already wondering how I will last two long weeks should/if/when we win on Sunday (which I think the Cards can certainly do) and go to the Super Bowl. I can't move away from ASFN because I can't stop reading or talking about this team.

You know, when the Phillies won the World Series, I was alone in my apartment. I jumped up and down, screamed and cried. That was not expected (at least til later in the series) and it was awesome. I can only imagine how fabuolous celebrating with thousands of people like me will be should/if/when the Cards win on Sunday. Just WOW.

Actually, i would feel better about the whole thing if people would stop being so optimistic. It sounds odd to say it, but I keep wanting to yell at people to shut up and not jinx anything. I'm flipping between sports shows just trying to find people who are bagging on the Cardinals and its getting harder.

It makes me nervous.

That, or I don't handle being incredibly happy very well.

Yeah I know what you mean. People need to beat up on this team more in the media. I think we are fine in here, more of a quiet confidence compared to Eagles fans, even the Eagle players. This is a game that could easily go either way. If Eagle fans are expecting a 48-20 win they are mistaken and if we are expecting another 33-13 game we are probably mistaken too. This game will probably be decided by 5 or less points which sucks because I have had all the last second drama I can take for a while.

My dad isn't really a Cardinal fan, he's a Warner fan to a degree, loves the guy but dosen't watch much Cardinal football until of course we've been on national TV for several weeks.

He has been saying we're doomed.

Tonight I enjoyed just saying it like it was.

I said look the Eagles are a solid good team but before they came back alive they were left for dead.

Now they're playing some football but no team in the NFC is that dominant and any team that thinks they're going into UofP stadium and put a butt whoopin on the Cardinals is delusional, no one has.

The Giants barely escaped with a win and they're the only ones that managed that feat prior to us locking up the division.

Every game after that as much as I hate to admit was a working vacation for these guys.

I wouldn't say the Eagles have no chance, I'd say it's going to be close is all I'm saying.

I think that's pretty accurate IMO.

Enjoy The Moment....

When the Draft rolled around in April we were excited about the possibilities of adding some "new-blood". As training camp ended and the pre-season began we felt like we could compete and had a decent shot to win the West or sneak in the play-offs. We did BOTH! ...And now, for the past (2) weeks we've been given NO CHANCE of winning in the play-offs! ...And yet, here we are in the Championship game. AMAZING!! That being said, I am really just taking it all in-stride. HAPPY to be here. NOT really thinking about the Super Bowl. Just thinking about Sunday. I consider myself a realistic optimist. I've learned that expectation can lead to disappointment so I just ENJOY the Present and try not to get too far ahead. Sunday will NOT define this season. That's already been done. These are GOOD days to be a Cardinal fan. GO CARDS! SHOCK THE WORLD!! WE BELIEVE!!!:D

2005 Texas won a real National Championship. 2006 The Cardinals won the World Series and my daughter's team won the NFL flag football national championship. 2007 the Spurs win the NBA title. 2008 Arizona is hosting the NFC Championship game.

Its almost unreal. What a run for my sports teams.

I feel the same way. When we got the ball with 4 minutes to play against the Falcons I told my son that I wish i could just turn off the game and see what happened on the news. I was a freakin nevous wreck.

If through some miracle "you know what happens" imagine what the following two weeks will be like!! This is bad enough.

I plead guilty to being an idiot about all of this. I'm driving down the road, listening to various sports shows, and I'm yelling at the radio. Today Howie Long had a few nice things to say about Kurt and the team and I almost drove off the road because I've had this theory that the more he puts us down the better we play.

I'm going to have to take up Yoga to calm down.

Now that's the spirit that gets us wins. I agree with Dad.
I can't take this much longer, it's just Wednesday. Sunday will never get here!!!

I don't really think this team is a team you have to be so gun shy about being optimistic on anymore.

1. The naysayers still vastly outnumber the optimistic.

2. The team dosen't need to sneak up on people or a miracle to win anymore.

In the past we did our best games when we were totally overlooked, that's rough to accomplish this deep in the playoffs but we still have a lot of that going for us so it's all good.
