GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — Many eastern North Carolina high school softball teams were trying to keep their postseasons alive tonight with the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs underway.

Top-seed in the 7A Bracket D.H. Conley put up five runs in the fourth inning against 8-seed Wake Forest as the Vikings go onto win 10-3. They will host 4-seed Cleveland on Friday.

3-seed J.H. Rose played a close one against 6-seed Harnett Central, but walked it off in the seventh inning 4-3. The Rampants will host 7-seed Triton in the fourth round.

In the 3A bracket, 3-seed Farmville Central got the win over 11-seed Ayden-Grifton 11-6, and the Jaguars will take on 2-seed McMichael on Friday.

In the 2A bracket, 5-seed Rosewood continued their chase for a title after they won 3-2 over 4-seed East Carteret. The Mariners end the year with a 15-6 record, and Rosewood will play top-seed North Duplin on Friday.

And in the 1A bracket, top-seed Bear Grass Charter shutout Vance Charter 10-0 and will face East Columbus in the Eastern Finals.
