There were plenty of great performances last week on the local diamonds, and high school sports reporter Rich Garven takes a look at 24 of the best of them for readers to vote on for the Hometeam baseball player of the week.
These picks were selected from performances reported by area coaches to the Hometeam Scoreboard.
Congratulations to Bartlett's Luigi Villegas for taking the top spot in last week's poll, earning 3,153 votes (35.8 perfent) to top Shrewsbury's Joey Guidotti (1,816 votes) and Littleton's Mikey Shufrin (1,347 votes) for the honor.

Jake Attaway, Hudson
The senior singled twice and drove in four runs and recorded seven strikeouts over three scoreless innings in relief as the Hawks defeated neighboring rival Marlborough.
Miguel Batista, Gardner
The senior surrendered six hits during a complete-game effort and collected two hits and an RBI as the Wildcats defeated St. Bernard’s.
Will Buchholz, Maynard
The senior scattered seven hits, racked up seven strikeouts and yielded one run over seven innings while driving in three runs to propel the Tigers past Narragansett.
Michael Casavant, Narragansett
The senior went 3 for 5 with a double and a triple while driving in three runs to power the Warriors to victory over Tyngsborough.
Preston Cote, Algonquin
The senior surrendered two hits and two runs, didn’t walk a batter and stacked up 10 strikeouts over six innings in a route-going performance as the Titans topped Milford.
Caleb Coyne, Clinton
The junior drove in a total of seven runs over a span of 17 innings as the Gaels defeated Hudson, Shrewsbury and Maynard during a 3-0 week.
Charlie Criscola, Uxbridge
The senior belted a two-run homer and finished with three RBIs against Hopedale and had two hits and two RBIs against Bay Path as the Spartans posted a pair of victories.
Alex Croteau, Shepherd Hill
The sophomore singled to lead off the seventh inning, stole second, raced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a sacrifice fly to give the Rams a walk-off win over Nashoba.
C.J. Gagnon, Grafton
The junior fanned six, didn’t issue a walk and allowed one earned run over seven innings and went 1 for 2 with an RBI and two runs as the Gators defeated Shrewsbury.
Austin Gibbons, St. Bernard’s
The junior allowed three hits over five innings in a complete-game effort and drove in three runs as the Bernardians downed crosstown foe Fitchburg.
Jack Hehir, Wachusett
The junior notched five strikeouts over five shutout innings versus Nashoba as the Mountaineers kicked off a 2-0 week that gave them four wins in their past five games.
James Hillis, Auburn
The senior went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs versus Blackstone Valley and belted a three-run homer against North Middlesex as the Rockets remained undefeated.
Mark Kenton, Tantasqua
The freshman came off the bench in the in the top of the seventh inning and delivered an opposite-field single with one out to plate the winning run as the Warriors edged Millbury.
Robert Kniskern, Worcester Tech
The senior came on in relief and allowed four baserunners while striking out two during a three-inning scoreless stint to earn the win as the Eagles edged city rival Burncoat.
Bode Lee-Feinberg, Bromfield
The sophomore surrendered one run and two hits while striking out 10 over five innings in a route-going performance as the Trojans topped Blackstone-Millville for their sixth straight win.
Brayden Lewis, Hopedale
The senior plated two runs with a double to reach the 100-hit plateau for his career as the Blue Raiders posted a road win over Ashland.
Reece Lora, Leominster
The senior allowed three hits and one run while striking out four over four innings to earn his first varsity win as the Blue Devils topped Holliston.
Jackson Lucarelli, St. John’s
The sophomore doubled to account for one of the Pioneers’ five hits and drove in two runs in a 3-1 win over St. Mary’s.
Jared Magnusson, Bay Path
The sophomore went 3 for 4, drove in a run and scored twice while pitching two shutout innings of relief to earn the win as the Minutemen rallied to edge host Bristol-Plymouth, 8-7.
Jack Marino, Blackstone Valley
The junior was 2 for 4 with a double while on his way to driving in three runs to help the Beavers defeat Ashland, 6-4, in a non-league matchup.
Aiden O’Connor, Doherty
The freshman went 3 for 4 with a double while driving in a run and crossing the plate three times as the Highlander topped St. Paul to extend their winning streak to three games.
Jake O’Day, Oakmont
The senior had two hits and drove in five runs versus Lunenburg and two hits and three RBIs against Boston English as the Spartans posted a pair of victories.
Cameron Swank, St. Paul
The sophomore struck out nine and didn’t walk a batter in a route-going performance as the Knights held off to previously undefeated South for a 5-4 win.
Andrew Talmo, Assabet Valley
The senior scattered five hits, yielded one run and struck out seven while not walking a batter over seven innings to lead the Aztecs to victory over Worcester Tech.
