Four San Francisco 49ers players will now become unrestricted free agents after the team didn't place a tender on them.
Cornerback Chase Lucas and defensive linemen Kalia Davis, Tarron Jackson and Robert Beal Jr. are all free to sign with any team after the 49ers only placed a tender on defensive lineman Sam Okuayinonu.
Lucas, 29, is mostly a special teams player who also saw defensive action in 15 games for the 49ers this past season. He had nine tackles and one defended pass in 98 defensive snaps. The Tennessee Titans, led by ex-49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, were reportedly interested in Chase if the 49ers didn't tender him.
Davis, 27, started all 17 games for the 49ers and played in 492 defensive snaps. A sixth-round pick in 2022, Davis finished the 2025 season with 28 combined tackles and 0.5 sacks.
Jackson, 27, did not see any regular-season action for the 49ers in 2025. He joined the team after spending time with the Carolina Panthers in 2024 and the Philadelphia Eagles from 2021 to 2022.
Beal Jr., 26, mostly played special teams for San Francisco. He saw seven games of action in 2025 and registered 14 combined tackles.
