Why the hell would the Wizards want AD?

That makes ZERO sense.

Tell me those aren't the Wizards own 1sts with no protection - if they are the NBA needs to intervene and force a sale or something. The Mavs are raping them if that is true, and it just made the Western conference even more lopsided and tougher.

I think it has more to do with 2 first-round picks and 3 second-rounders. The Wizards are rebuilding and that contract expires 2027-2028 (if he uses his player option). That would be an expiring contract plus assets you could move or if they have a multi-year plan, he would come off the books by the time your drafted players are ready to step up. I don't think it's about Davis at all.

Mavs fan here since late 90's. Took me a while to become a fan because they were absolute garbage when I started watching NBA in 1990. I had no idea that they were a good team in 1988, but a lot of people in Dallas talked about that. they finally inducted Mark Aguirre into the rafters this past week and it was pretty cool to see how much it meant to him and older fans.

That said to say this. Terrible trade. Luka for AD is the worst trade I've ever seen from a fan perspective. we've already said the reasons why. They were just in the finals 2 years ago and I would argue that they were on the cusp of getting back there and winning if they made the correct moves. What's done is done. the first step is they fired Harrison and now they are trying to rebuild. They are beyond lucky to get Cooper Flagg and now the hope is that they will get lucky again with another pick or two.
