Looks much more faithful to the book. Interesting.
You took the words out of my mouth. I thought book was better than the first film which was a mediocre 80's action movie. I liked it but the draw of the first film was more about Arnold than the actual quality of that movie. Also, this is Edgar Wright. These two things alone make it worth a look IMO.

It looks much better than the original.
how dare you!

but seriously, i love the original, but the book is SOOOOOO much different from the movie, that I'm more than fine with a closer adaptation to the book. And if you want to know how different... and this shouldn't be a spoiler because it's literally impossible for this to happen in the movie now... but the book ended with the main character flying a plane into the WORLD TRADE CENTER! So, yeah, the general set up for this movie is the same concept but if can go anywhere and I love the cast enough and still have enough curiosity about an Edgar Wright movie, so I'm down to see what this version looks like.

Surprise
I like Glen Powell and I like Edgar Wright, but this just missed the mark for me. Not a bad movie, but generally forgettable.

I loved it.
Honestly, had they released this version originally i think it would have been a bigger hit than the mutated hyper-eightyified version they put together to feature Arnold.

But....Freevee doing anything for ratings really jives with the modern click for cash culture that we just couldn't really relate to back then.

Glen Powell ranks right there with Bob Odenkirk for the world champion "Mister Bland" ...
But I'll be damned if they ain't working there way into being two of my favorite actors.

Honestly.... we need a "Next of Kin" remake with Powell in the starring role and Odenkirk being the big brother he calls for help.
