The whole proposition of a "real NFL stadium" in the Valley included a retractable roof since we would only need the roof to be closed EARLY each season (to avoid the heat of SDS), but could enjoy football in an "outdoor" stadium (ala SDS) as weather permitted (LATE season games).

Should have saved millions of dollars by just building a solid dome with a retractable field (so it could be a grass playing surface).

The Seattle game was played with the roof closed. And - no surprise - it was hot inside. If you aren't going to open the roof, but invite tens of thousands of people over - turn on the A/C.

The typical response is that the roof was kept closed for more crowd noise, but the two loudest stadiums in the league are both open air stadiums.

Just seems like such a waste, IMHO.

I sit in the Club section and it was cold. I though the AC was turned on too high. So I guess it just depends on what section you are in.

For home field advantage they should crank the heat up for late season games.

On a serious note, the NFL should not let teams build new stadiums without a roof, retractable or otherwise.

The first and only game I attended at UOP was the SB year when we got blown out by Minnesota late in the season. The roof was open and it was miserably cold. I think Warner must've said something because it remained closed after that for some time.
