I think we should pump the brakes a bit. He’s improved, some games. His better performances have been against lower teams. He just needs to be consistent because he does impact the game. Glad he’s not a detriment to the team like he was early on in the season
I'd agree. He's earned his minutes this year, which is big, but he has a number of big warts that need worked on. His FT is atrocious, which makes him unplayable late in close games, and his lack of shooting makes him one dimensional. His defense is improved and he's a good backup but he's still a backup and is unlikely to be more until he works on his shooting
Oso's statistical improvement comes from Ott's system first and his lack of big mistakes seconds. He doesn't shoot so his percentage is good and he makes good passes. Williams is a testament to how Ott wants bigs used and he's the best player on our team from an on/off offensive standpoint. Oso can't do what he does and luckily for Oso neither can Richards. Maluach is being brought along slowly so as long Oso doesn't crap the bed, he'll stick in the rotation. That's solid for a 2nd round pick but again, still a backup although his defense shows he's very coachable.
The idea of using Oso as a PF with Williams is awful. Teams could clog the paint far too easily. The only time they should see the floor together is odd times where we desperately need a board. I'd lean towards using Dunn instead because he's not as inept without the ball his hands on offense.
