JasonColeYahoo: Matt Flynn still wants to sign with the Dolphins, but the team is low-balling the offer, thinking he'll take it just to play for Philbin. [via Twitter]

That's embarrassing. What a waste of talent.

Under the Radar...

JasonLaCanfora: John Abraham returns to the ATL on a 3year deal. His market lagged with Manning's chase ongoing and opted to stay there #freeagency [via Twitter]

Pats inked WR Brandon Lioyd... Glad he left the Rams. Was their only WR threat.

Patriots reach agreement with tight end Daniel Fells

Fells has reached an agreement on a three-year deal with the Patriots, the Boston Herald reports. He’ll join Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez on a very deep depth chart at tight end.

With Fells in the fold as the primary blocking tight end, it makes it even more clear that while Gronkowski and Hernandez are listed at tight end, they’re receivers first and foremost in the Patriots’ offense.

Panthers sign RB Mike Tolbert

The agent for free agent running back Mike Tolbert said Monday his client has signed a four-year contract with the Panthers. Joel Turner said Tolbert was so excited about joining Carolina that he left over $1 million on the table on an offer from San Diego.

"That's how bad he wanted to play there," Turner said. "He loves the idea of playing for Ron Rivera and being on the same team with Cam Newton. He just thinks it's a great fit."

SI_PeterKing: Could be for real. Could be for leverage w/SF. But I hear Alex Smith's agent, Tom Condon, has spoken to the Dolphins this afternoon.

Feeling that pain on losing Manning easing with each passing moment.

Broncos keep Wesley Woodyard on two-year deal

Woodyard, 25, has been a special teams dynamo for the past four seasons in Denver. While smallish (6-foot, 220) for a linebacker, Woodyard did post career highs in tackles (97) and forced fumbles (two) last year, starting 7-of-16 games. Woodyard is an undersized overachiever. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky.

Woodyard will be Denver’s primary nickel linebacker in 2012. He replaces Joe Mays at middle linebacker on passing downs.
