this is why you'll never be taken seriously - ever

i'll make this pledge to you and HoopHead that i made to Hoop Head when he was relentlessly defending Coach Igor many years ago

if the final season stats and other evidence doesn't convince
at least half the poll takers here that Booker should be traded within the next year
I'll never post here again!

if i'm wrong, all you and Hoop have to do is not post here for 1 month

BirdGang, do you agree?
HoopHead, do you agree?

posting cp3's record with the suns and comparing it to book's record with the suns is one of the dumbest things ive read in some time - it actually hurt my brain a little - because of the dumbness

the hatred is one thing - you're more than entitled to your opinion but when you back it up with stupid posts like that - while continuing to act like everyone else is stupid - im not taking you seriously

first of all, i didn't need that share to "back up" my other critiques.
I posted that on it's own -- it's an interesting fact someone shared on another site and it belongs in thid non-appreciation thread

as usual, you and Hoop will pick one thing to try to negate everything else without reason

if my posts are stupid and not to be taken seriously, you've got nothing to worry about.
my stupidity will end when the poll reveals that i'm just a hater in the minority
you've really got nothing to lose

just one month of you refraining from sharing silly clips and barbs
up against me never posting on this site again

Leave or don't. I don't care. It'd be nice if you stopped lying. By that I mean using 1 stat to create an entire argument. As proven before, your stat is often incorrect. Hence, lying. You've done so enough times I don't even double check because you have no credibility. Now quit pretending anyone cares enough about your opinion for a bet that lowers site traffic, regardless of who stays and goes.

right now i'm literally laughing out loud (no LOL bs). Now you're acknowledging that this site should appreciate my long, stupid, ridiculous posts because people read my content and it generates traffic? After you and others have celebrated me leaving from time to time?

and your other supporting evidence is one of my stats was a fraction of a percentage off because it was quoted from the prior week? well, that's why i've been saying lets take a look at the stats when the season ends, shall we?

I know you lost the Igor poll but this one should be easy. Everybody loves Booker. He's home-grown. He's good looking. He scores, he assists, he's the greatest Suns scorer in history, dudes! Everyone knows he just needs quality support. And there are plenty of other players being a little overpaid. Next year, he'll be an All-Star again.

so, come on. Show a little back-bone. It's only the off-season.

and don't worry about sight traffic, just think of the extra eyeballs a little contest will generate!!!

Again, making things up. What Igor poll are you talking about? I didn't bet on anything like that. You're supposed to be an adult, act like it.

Welcome to ignore.

i know you didn't bet on Igor. I made you the same offer and you didn't accept. And you would have lost (months before he was actually fired).

now, as to putting me on ignore -- hallelujah, i've been asking you to do that for 7 years

now, let's see you be a big boy and resist replying to this post (because you won't see it, right? I'm on "ignore" at last!

as for you, BirdGangThang
you're relatively new here so the gentlemanly thang to do is offer you an easy out

just admit that our argument (if you can call it that, since you never present any arguments, just quips like, "dum, dum, chewing gum gum") is with me being a pompous know-it-all but you concede that re-signing Booker to a 70 mil deal and building around his flaws are a bad bet and Suns fans deserve better.

DO YOU AGREE WITH THAT, BIRD?

(i made it easier by going back and bolding the part about me being a pompous know-it-all)

1. fired the year after getting the Suns within 2 games of a championship
2. fired 2 years after winning a championship with Lakers
3. fired 2 years after winning a championship with Bucks
next coach will be Booker's 8th in 11 seasons

hmmm, is it time to consider that it's Booker-ball and the coach's can't reign it in because, well, you know what will happen to them???

on sports radio today, Wolf said he could make the case (for the Suns org, obviously) that the whole problem with the Suns was Bud (the company spin never stops)

the stats are in.

Devin Booker 2024-2025 Season

OFFENSE RANKING (50% of a players value)
12th in points
15th in assists
239th in shooting percentage
307th in 3pt percentage
107th offensive rating
289th clutch rating
(33%, 18% 3pt. 7 career game winning shots- very low for a team's #1 option, go-to player over 11 seasons)

522th (of 568) DEFENSE RANKING (50% of a players value)

overall 434th +/- rating (OFFENSE + DEFENSE impact)

Top 10 NBA salary (Booker will make more than Kevin Durant next season though Durant has better stats in all of the above except for assists.) An expected 70 million Booker deal is expected this year. Currently, the top NBA salary is 59 million.

Team Performance:
Worst Suns season several times. Best Suns season + NBA Finals + among top defensive team and clutch team with Chris Paul for 2 seasons. Back to among worst defensive and clutch team without Chris Paul. 7 coaches replaced over 10 seasons. Consistent team chemistry/motivation/meltdown problems though the team has been completely turned over and built around Booker many times.

THAT'S JUST THE FACTS. The stats are from NBA.com. Please do correct me if i misread anything.

It's inaccurate to separate out defense and offense and claim each represents 50% of a player's value. I don't think we ever pay enough attention to defense but, having said that, offense is far more important.

i disagree. As the Suns demonstrated, they've often had great offensive players. But they went furthest when they had their better defensive teams. The Suns surrounded Booker with 4 excellent defensive starters when they went to the Finals. And a great play-maker like CP3, Nash, and Kidd made for our most effective offenses through team play.

the exception is a great offensive player who can't be shut down, like Barkley. But Booker can absolutely be shut down.

it isn't just Booker's defense that's a drag on the team (worst rated defender in Sun's history). His offense alone is an overall negative.

THE SUNS SHOOT BETTER AS A TEAM THAN BOOKER (48% to 45%)

-- so they're better off when he doesn't shoot. It does help teammates when he's double-teamed. But we saw that in the 8 straight blowouts to end our playoff hopes, our opponents started single-coverage on him because Booker focusing on scoring was to their advantage.

sports radio's, Wolf just aired a rant about Booker just needs to be surrounded by players he can learn from. If Booker didn't learn from CP3, he won't learn from anyone, including the 7 coaches he burned through.

Wolf also said he doesn't believe Bud would tell Booker to talk less, because Booker's one of the "best basketball players in the universe" and a "smart, tough guy".

why would any coach want Booker calling the shots on the floor or in the huddle considering that the Suns went from best clutch team in the NBA to worst as soon as CP3 left, and his individual clutch stats are poor? Even his offense can be shut down with double teams.

it's not because Booker won't lead. It's because he can't.

there have been some weak defensive players who were worth building around, but their offensive strength included them being unstoppable and clutch on offense.

we're building around someone weak in all 3 departments

let's see how far a great defense gets this team?
my prediction is all the way...

I think Denver or LA take them out. As good as they are they are still very young. They also really don’t have a number 2 option they got good pieces but no real legit second guy to get a bucket when you need it

if a genie gave me one wish i'd take a great defensive team like OKC over a great offensive team any day.
you can count on great defense to be consistent
offense can be hot and cold -- and redundant, since only one player can have the ball and shoot. "Big 3's" fail when they're all offensive studs.

and great defensive teams also go hand and hand with a high bball iq. CP3's defensive skills didn't come from his athleticism.

Booker and Beal's bad defense is linked to their bad decision making like reaching-in and fouling at the wrong time. For example, Beal lost us a couple of games in crunchtime by gambling on a steal.

Joker is the most un-guardable force in basketball and had the best chance of beating OKC. Now, they'll take it all.

I'd rather a great offensive team than a great defensive team if those were my only options but I believe teams with balance have the best chance in postseason play. So give me a top 10 defense that can really turn it up in key stretches that is also highly rated on offense.

so, the word is that Houston was interested in Booker, but no more. I hoped i was wrong and Booker still has excellent trade value despite his bloated salary. That ship has passed

watching great players and teams in the playoffs now is additionally clarifying on how irrelevant Booker and the Suns are now.

want to see a model player? Check out Caitlin Clark. Pound for pound the best player in basketball. Smart. Great passer. Leader. Great shooter. Excellent decision maker. Balanced. She'd be the top assist maker in the NBA -- in the WNBA her teammates too often struggle to finish layups.

but the key is the SMART attribute and it will make her a winner

the Suns have played a decade of low bbiq basketball, interrupted by 2 years of Chris Paul

and another smart, balanced game-changer will be Cooper Flagg. Along with Doncic and SGA and Halliburton (all of whom we passed on), they will be the future. Meanwhile, we'll be, again, pitifully building around an unbalanced, uninspiring, non-leader on the downslide.

i'd rather watch Indiana's Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham in the crappy WNBA than another season of Booker-ball on the local Booker-broadcast network.

speaking of Sophie, i just read about the lawsuits

add
1. another corrupt owner & organization
2. the way the org, local media, and fans turned on NBA legend Kevin Durant
3. the way Booker threw his coach under the bus and the org goes through coaches like Kleenex
4. the team's growing reputation of dysfunction

no serious star will want to ride on this Titanic and be the next fall guy for the failings of the fan's "home-grown" "franchise player"

phx is going to be a pain cave for years to come.
i'm going OKC for the playoffs and maybe the Spurs for next season
