Two years ago, Philadelphia added a local collegiate star to the defensive staff, hiring Chester, Pennsylvania native Ronell Williams as the team's new nickelbacks coach. Williams was named the assistant linebackers/defensive quality control coach of the Eagles during the 2024 offseason after he spent the 2023 campaign working with the team's slot cornerbacks.
Now, after former Eagles' defensive backs coach Christian Parker accepted the Cowboys' defensive coordinator position, Williams is interviewing for a job on the Cowboys' staff on Saturday.
In his first year with the Eagles, Williams helped navigate an injury that sidelined Avonte Maddox for 13 games by developing a group of young defensive backs while mixing in veteran experience at the position.
A 2010 West Chester University graduate and Division II All-American, Williams will join Sean Desai here in Philadelphia after spending time as the Bears' defensive quality control coach.
In 2016, Williams was a volunteer linebacker coach for Widener under defensive coordinator Bill Shuey, a former Eagles’ linebacker coach who coached and developed Williams at West Chester.

The Cowboys are interviewing Eagles assistant LB coach Ronell Williams, who was the team’s nickel cornerback coach in 2023, per source. Obviously has a background with new DC Christian Parker.
