Wow, I did not realize that under the newish CBA that if a Rookie of the Year winner meets a certain criteria (Carroll does) that the team will be awarded a high draft choice. Seattle got the 29th overall pick last year for Rodriguez winning RotY.

It's Ichiro - it always has been. (Ichiro also happens to be his idol)

I read an article about who belongs in the ASG. Here's what he said abort Corbin:

Outfield: Corbin Carroll, D-backs
The All-Star Game should be a showcase for not only the best players in baseball but also the most fun to watch. The D-backs' star rookie belongs in both categories. You want speed? Carroll’s top-notch sprint speed and 18 steals are proof of his elite feet. You want great catches? He is in the 92nd percentile in Outs Above Average and routinely does something amazing in the outfield. You want big hits? Carroll has a .966 OPS on the year and has bashed eight homers over his previous 20 games. Add it all up and you can understand why no player has a greater fWAR (3.1) than this 22-year-old dynamo.

Carroll now leads the NL in WAR and OPS. Plus, he's tied for second in stolen bases.

Just think about that for a second.

This guy is just something else. As a Phils fan, I enjoy seeing him play on the times we match up.

He got the call up against us last year if I believe! I saw the excitement for his debut among the crowd and have been a fan ever since.

D-backs’ Corbin Carroll in MVP conversation just 99 games into career

"PHOENIX — “MVP-MVP-MVP” rang throughout Chase Field on Friday when Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll was up to bat." I was there when it happened! :)

"As of now, Carroll is +1500 to win NL MVP on Fanduel Sportsbook. He has the fourth-best odds to win the award, trailing Atlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuña Jr., Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman and Dodgers utility player Mookie Betts."

I cant believe how good this kid is, last time i thought about a young player locally that could make an impact nationally was Amare Stoudemire
