The Boston Celtics can't panic despite LeBron James becoming a Sixer

On Friday, July 24, LeBron James opted to continue his rivalry with the Boston Celtics by signing a two-year deal to join the Philadelphia 76ers, teaming up with Jaylen Brown as a result. To make matters worse for Celtics fans, the Sixers now have a legitimate superteam consisting of Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Brown, LeBron and Joel Embiid, with Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons rounding out an elite top seven.

For Celtics fans, seeing the Sixers get even stronger this summer is a tough pill to swallow. After all, the fanbase was only just coming to terms with the fact that Brad Stevens swapped Brown for Paul George and draft capital earlier this month.

Now, the Sixers and New York Knicks appear to be the two powerhouses in the Eastern Conference, with the Celtics needing to make up some ground next summer once the repeater tax has been cleansed.
