Because that's to whom Mulli was comparing him in saying that they have equivalent numbers of stopped runs. Maybe the outright number is the same, but the share of overall carries is much lower.

If you'd like to suggest some players who are good who are less successful than Hightower, you can go ahead and look up the stats. We can have that discussion.

To see if the negative yardage or percentage of carries under 2 yards is something you see from all backs, even the very best, or just ours.

In looking into some of those numbers what really starts to stand out is how little the Cards run the football and how it impacts our RBs.

For example TH starts out the Denver game 1,0, 2, -1. In too many instances he might never get another carry. But if AP starts out that way he's almost certain to get at least 15 more carries to try and offset the slow start.

Surprising stat from yesterdays game. TH was 6-97 with two TDs after his fumble. Seeing LSH must have greatly inspired him.

That and the Broncos defense had pretty much put up the white flag.

True. Really changed my attitude toward the Cardinal defense this season watching the Broncos D throw in the towel after that horrific performance by their QB.

This is very relevant. It's not that all backs have several runs of 2 yards or less it is the % of their total carries that fall in that range.

For instance TH had 15 carries for 81 yards vs the Rams. A very respectable 5.4 average. But 9 of his 15 carries gained 1 yard or less.

Same thing yesterday. 6 of TH's first 12 carries gained 2 yards or less. And even with his strong finish ends up with 7 of 18.

Against SF he has 4 of 5 carries at less than 2 yards and 3 that lose yardage.

Against KC he has 12 carries for 62 yards but 6 are for less than 2 yards.

So we are looking at a guy people are calling one of the best all around backs in the NFL who gains less than 2 yards on half his carries.

We,maybe, could live with that if TH had 300 carries a season. But at 140 it doesn't work.
