The Coyotes have an an optional practice today at Gila River Arena, before which an update on captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson's status following his injury last night is expected.
Bad news from Coyotes camp: Sounds like captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson is going to miss significant time after last night's hit from San Jose's Evander Kane.
I would expect Kyle Capobianco or Jordan Gross to step in while Ekman-Larsson is out. We'll be talking to coach Rick Tocchet soon for further information.
That seems to be at least 3-5 days. No decision on who would come up to replace OEL, could be Kyle Capobianco, who was a scratch the last two games, or Jordan Gross off taxi squad.
One thing I'll say about OEL (@LukeLapinski & I talked about this on @TheNattieHattie today): He is resilient & seems to bounce back quickly from injuries we think will keep him out longer. Obviously, we do not know the nature or degree of this injury. An early challenge for AZ.
