After suffering an 8-7 loss in Game 1 of its SEC opener, the Texas A&M Aggies return to Kimrey Family Stadium for Game 2 against the Oklahoma Sooners at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday.
Shortstop Chris Hacopian and designated hitter Wesley Jordan impressed in their return to the lineup, combining for three hits and three RBI in the loss. While Texas A&M's lineup thrived against an extremely talented pitching rotation, the Aggie bullpen struggled to find a rhythm, giving up a 7-4 lead in the sixth inning and allowing a game-winning sac-fly in the bottom of the eighth.
The bullpen could have lost right-hander Josh Stewart for the foreseeable future, after he left the game with an apparent arm injury in the eighth inning on Friday night. As the depth continues to shrink, Weston Moss, who is expected to start for the Maroon and White in Game 2, must have a consistent and deep outing to keep the Aggies in the series.
