Texas A&M baseball’s series against Oakland has been moved up to avoid predicted inclement weather on Sunday. The new schedule has a doubleheader on Friday, March 6th, with Game 1 at 2 p.m. CST and Game 2 at 6 p.m. Game 3 will be on Saturday, March 7th, at 2 p.m.
This marks the 20th-ranked Aggies’ first doubleheader of their short season. The program is 11-1 through the first month of the season, with their only loss coming to a top-ranked UCLA Bruins squad.
The series against Oakland is the final non-conference series of the season for the Aggies. They’ll face Stephen F. Austin next Tuesday, March 10th, and will begin conference play against Oklahoma on Friday, March 13th.
The Aggies have swept through a relatively light non-conference schedule and are looking to extend their undefeated 11-0 record against unranked teams against Oakland and SFA.
Oklahoma, ranked 11th in the country, will pose as Texas A&M’s first serious challenge since the UCLA game, when the Aggies were walloped in an embarrassing 11-1 blowout that ended early to run-rule. This week includes the team’s last chance at a tune-up game before a grueling SEC schedule.
